At the Colombia Icefield, the Brewster all-terrain Ice Explorer takes visitors on a 90 minute ice adventure. Designed and manufactured in Canada especially for the Columbia Icefield, each ICE EXPLORER carries up to 56 visitors over the surface of the Athabasca Glacier. Equipped with huge low-pressure tires, traveling over ice 300 meters thick is safe and effortless for this one of a kind vehicle. An adventure found nowhere else on earth - unforgettable. You won't soon forget the drive up the spectacular Fiddle Valley to the hottest mineral springs in the Rockies. Flowing from the mountain at 54 degrees Celcius, the water is cooled to a comfortable 40 degrees as it enters the pools. A great place to relax and soak up the scenery! The facility features a cafe and gift shop, two hot pools, two cool pools, award-winning interpretive events and great hiking and wildlife viewing nearby. Renovations are in progress until summer. To reach the hot springs, travel east on Highway 16 to the Pocohontas Bungalows at the Miette Road. Turn right and follow the road to the end at the hot springs parking lot. The drive from Jasper townsite takes 50 minutes.
