Marmot Basin...It doesn't get any better than this.
Well known for its uncrowded atmosphere , Marmot Basin gives you more time on the slopes, less waiting in lines and the bragging rights to experiencing the biggest and fastest high speed quad chair lift in the Rockies. Thank you Marmot Basin!
In celebration of the copious amounts of falling snow in the Canadian Rockies, the town of Jasper has come together with some outstanding ways to save. Visit https://www.abetterplaceto.ca/ for more details on how you can experience all that Jasper, Alberta has to offer you this winter season!

Record Snowfall!

Jasper's Marmot Basin has an amazing amount of snow already - a base of over 100 cms - which usually is the base in February, nevermind November! We have had 99 cm of snowfall in the last 9 days.
Check out the snow and Marmot's webcam here!

UK visitor raves about Jasper
Hello All,
I just wanted to take this opportunity (now I have recovered from my jet lag) to thank you for the most fantastic holiday we recently spent in Jasper. As winners of the Metro competition we were treated to:
Flights through Canadian Affair on Thomas Cook Airlines - thanks to Monisha and the helpful cabin crew on Thomas Cook
Airlines Transfers with Sundog tours - private transfers for 5 hour amazing journey on the Icefield Parkway - can't be bad! www.sundogtours.com
Accomocation at the (Best Western) Jasper Inn - fantastic accomodation and great hot tub. www.jasperinn.com
Marmot Basin ski lift tickets - despite the cold we made great use of our lift passes. Just the place to perfect my parallel turns. (Thanks also to the great bus drivers who were so friendly and helpful). www.skiingjasper.com
Papa George's Restaurant - what a lovely meal and very attentive staff who could not do enough to help. (My first taste of Elk) www.astoriahotel.com
In fact our first experience of Canada raised the question, 'Why did we not come before?' Having met the friendliest locals who were genuinely interested in where we were from, where we had skiied etc and experienced scenery which was truly 'awesome' in the literal sense, I cannot wait to return. We are already planning a trip to Nova Scotia next summer and would love to bring our teenage children to Jasper to ski - our son is a prime candidate for the Ski Instructor School! (Canadian Rockies Ski Academy) http://canadianrockiesacademy.com
Thank you very much again.
Best Regards
Lindsay Smith

Let's Hit the Slopes!
Marmot will open another 6 runs in the lower area this weekend along with the School House T-Bar and the Magic Carpet lifts. A total of 7 runs and three lifts, including the Eagle Express High Spedd Quad Chair, will be open for the weekend. Marmot has some of the very best snow conditions in western Canada right now so come on out for some great early season skiing and riding! 27 cm of new snow has fallen in the past week at Marmot.
Right now, lift ticket rates are reduced by half price. Stay tuned to Marmot's snow report for regular updates.
