Jasper in January Festival 2010

Jasper comes to life during the 21st annual Jasper in January Festival taking place on January 15th - January 31st. Everyday is packaged with events and activities the whole family can enjoy.
New this year, the Jasper Pentathlon at Pyramid Lake promises to be an exciting event for the whole family to watch or even take part in. Feeling brave? The 1st Annual Bear's Paw Polar Bear Dip will test limits at participants jump into the frigid Lake Edith.
Festival favourites, Taste of the Town and the 22nd Annual Chili cook-off are back and better than ever, along with the Family Street Party, taking place on January 16th this year.
Along with these great events, many businesses in the community are having specials during the festival to make it an outstanding and affordable experience for all!
Some of my favorite events and must do's:
- Coldfire Creek Dogsledding
- Art Shows
- Skating and La Cabane a Sucre
- Chef Competition
- Full moon hike
- Winter Beach Party
- Wine Winter Meltdown (Chocolate & cheese fondue and a wine tasting!)
- Chili Cook-Off
- Tales with Ale: Join retired Parks Canada wardens for a Big Rock Ale and hear true life stories of their winter experiences in the Canadian Rockies.
And so much more...
